A public Service Message by PTA

PTA stated campaign for proper ID verification project in phase - 3, the sim information system, to prevent blockage of mobile connection in Pakistan. So what to do?

Ans: Send your Computerized Identification Number Card (CNIC) to 668. In response, system will send you the detail of SIM issued to your CNIC along with number of sims and respective companies. If the information is incorrect, just visit your nearest Sales & Service Center of respective Company and correct the record. All un-registered connection will be blocked on May 27, 2011.

Telenor Pakistan announces implementation of Karo Mumkin projects.

ISLAMABAD, February 10, 2011: Telenor Pakistan has announced the next phase of its ‘Karo Mumkin’ initiative. The two winning ideas that emerged from the recently concluded campaign will now be turned into projects and launched later this year. Telenor Pakistan’s Karo Mumkin initiative aims at helping people realize possibilities.

At a press conference held at Telenor Pakistan’s head office, the two winners shared details of their projects. Fariha Ambreen spoke about her project 'Recycle Paper to Provide Notebooks to Schools for Under Privileged Children' while Abdul Haq Mohiuddin gave details about his project 'Donate Rs100 from your Monthly Salary to Make Education Possible for Street Children'. The two will work with project consultants and auditors Earnest & Young.

Talking about the Karo Mumkin projects, Usman Javaid, Director Marketing Telenor Pakistan said: “Telenor Pakistan is providing the funds, the means and the tools needed for the projects to reach completion with the confidence that they will benefit the people of Pakistan. It has been a fulfilling journey and I am sure the spirit will inspire others to launch similar initiatives.”

Fariha Ambreen, one of the project owners, said: “It has been a gratifying experience to work on the project with Telenor Pakistan. I am in talks with 50-plus organizations which will become collection points for waste paper; I have already spoken with a premium packaging company in Lahore to convert the waste paper into notebooks. I am now looking at schools where the notebooks will be provided. I am excited at being able to turn my idea in reality. Although we have not reached our destination yet but we are certainly on our way.”
Abdul Haq Mohiuddin, the other project owner, said: “With Telenor Pakistan's help and the project management consultants, I have been able to turn my idea into reality. I plan to launch a website to help people donate online and through easypaisa services. Considering that on an average 1800 students graduate from a university every year, imagine the possibilities if they would donate just Rs100 from their monthly salary for this cause.”

To implement their ideas, the two winners will establish NGO’s with the names ‘Sabz’ and ‘Edvolution’. The hope is that these eventually become self-sustaining. Telenor Pakistan representatives will act as advisory members on the Board of Trustees.

Telenor Pakistan's Karo Mumkin show began airing in July 2010 and was designed to enable people to turn a patriotic idea into reality. The Karo Mumkin show asked audiences to send in their ideas by responding to the question ‘Where Do You See Pakistan in the Future?’ Over 24,000 ideas were received of which two were selected by a jury panel.

Some Months ago, when I lived in hostel for studies, in our 'Mohalla', there were some Mobile Shops who provide students, SIMs in the price same as having balance in them. For Example, the Jazz SIM have Rs.100 balance, the price of SIM was Rs.100 and Likewise for Telenor. In those days, If we purchase a card worth Rs.100, it gave us back Rs.91. So, instead of purchasing of a card, we preffered to purchase a new SIM. Now, I use one Telenor SIM for SIM Lagao Offer at every new Offer. Now it is paying me double by 200 minutes and SMSs on my forth SIM. Same as this, I am getting a free balance of Rs.30 from Jazz now on my third SIM.

A Big Difference between the prices of USB Modems of Telenor, Zong and Ufone

First of all Telenor offered the USB Modem with the price of Rs.11,999. I think, It got a great success through out the Pakistan becuse it was a new thing to the IT industry. Then, ZoNG Launched USB Modem after that and its retail price was 10,999. Then the system will start collecting data of your cell number and after some days it will be shown online.But you can see your Profile at the same time when you register here. Well! It is quite possible that there may be more options for prepaid customers there, e.g. change of package, activation or deactivation of services like ZONG postpaid e-care.
But I am using this with all my Telenor subscriptions and you can use it also. Don't Believe me! Just try yourself.
It is not useful for you! OK, then try it for your girl friends or youngers etc.

Telenor introduced SMS Email

Dear visitors, Telenor has introduced SMS Email for all customer using GSM - GPRS hansets. This service has cost Rs.30+tax initially. You can add upto 5 email addresses. It supports Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. You can also add other POP email addresses too. You will receive upto 1500 SMS Emails for Rs.30+tax/month. I personally checking this service personally, but it is not logging me in to configure the email addresses. I reported the problem but no response till now. I hope telenor wil response me soon!
